Grassy

A couple of weeks ago we went to the annual Losee Reunion, otherwise known as Grassy Lake. For 15-ish years my dad's whole family went camping at this lake. Then for the next 9 the lake was empty and the camping changed to other random fake Grassy Lake locations. But this year the lake was refilled and stocked with fish-a-plenty (my dad even caught one) and so the whole clan headed back up to our beloved Grassy. It was so exciting for me to show Dustin a true Grassy Lake reunion. We found many trees my cousins and I mutilated by carving our names in them. We canoed around the lake.

We went on a four wheeler ride. We played softball with the cousins. Our kids got extremely dirty and bathed in the lake.
We tie-dyed shirts.

There was, of course, a treasure hunt, fish pond and pinata for the kids.

And we didn't get eaten by any bears. It made me a believer that even the Wibergs can camp. Of course, we'll have to take my mom, who still provided and prepared most of the food. So I guess the Wibergs can camp if all we do is have fun and somebody else does all the work. Any takers?

Thank Goodness for Daddy Aldaders

(2007)

Here is our dinner conversation about the the white alligator at the zoo:

Maren: Where was the Daddy Aldader?

Avery: I don't know.

M: Maybe he was at work.

Dustin: Where do alligators work?

M: At Lynnette's house.

A: No, they work under water.

Ryan is One

Ryan had his first birthday on July 7th. I can't believe it has already been a year! Has it flown by for anyone else? Gramma Lana was in town for a week, so we celebrated by going to the zoo and having pie (I can't even think about eating more birthday cake after our Month-O-Cakes.)

My pregnancy with Ryan was my easiest yet and as a baby, he is my easiest yet (except for that no sleep thing-which, in case you were curious, he is doing much better and occasionally sleeps through the night for us). He loves to play with balls of any size, chase us around the couch, sing Itsy Bitsy Spider, and play in the dirt. He is a great eater and regularly out-eats the girls. So far he has liked everything we've given him, except mac-n-cheese. He is such a fun little boy!

Here are some pictures from the day:
