Adventures in So Cal: Part 3

I promise, this is the final installment in our California Adventure!  Here is a picture of us on Splash Mountain at Disneyland.  Very authentico.
On Thursday, we slept in!!  Yay!!  It was much deserved.  When we finally woke up, we packed up and headed to Balboa Beach.
The waves were huge!  But that didn't stop Dustin, or his 70 year old father, from playing in them.

 I buried the kids.

The adults had as much fun playing in the waves as the kids did.
 Gramma Lana
Tami and Eric and kids came by that morning and joined us at the beach.  Here is Tami and Grandma Wiberg soaking up some rays.
We found lots of great sea shells.
That night, Dustin went to Briana's High School Graduation, and I stayed home with the kids.  They had fun playing with cousins and watching movies.

When everyone got home that night, we finally celebrated Maren's birthday with a cake and ice cream (thanks to Isabel).

The next morning Dustin, Lana and I went to the Newport Beach Temple.  It is always beautiful and peaceful.

That afternoon we drove to LA to see the Hollywood sign.  It was so busy, there was no where to park, so Dustin dropped us girls off (we had to go to the bathroom).  So we got to see the sign--at least what we could see of it through the smog.

Dustin and the boys hung out down the road for a few minutes.
Then we headed over to the San Labrea Tar Pits.

Arie took us over to see some modern art nearby.
We had fun playing in these for quite a while.

We found a fun pizza place to eat at that night.

This little man came down with Strep Throat, with Maren and Ryan following a couple of days later.  I'm not really surprised, with how hard we pushed the kids during the week.  At least he waited until our last night there to get sick!

We stopped by the LA Temple on our way back to Arie's house and spent some time in the Visitor's Center there.

The next morning we got up and got ready to head back home, but not before one final swim in Arie's pool.

What a great vacation!!  It will be hard to top it in years to come!

How fun! I love that first picture of your family! Are Maren and Avery wearing make-up in those pictures with the cousins? Wish you could take a fun family trip out here!
