Friends, Fish and Fall Sports

One day in August, while we were school shopping with the kids, we ran into my old college roommate, Melissa Nothum.  We hadn't seen each other since our oldest girls were a couple of years old.  It was so much fun to get caught up and see her kids!
One morning I went and served with some friends.  We put together meals for undernourished children.  We had a great time!
Our good friends, the Parsons, were in Utah from Connecticut, and they stopped by to see us!  We loved watching our kids get reacquainted and had such a fun visit with them.

Ryan is in the deacon's quorum presidency with all of his good friends.  They have fun together, and hopefully he's learning something about responsibility, leadership and service, too. :)
More evidence of the "fun together" part.
Avery and her friends.
We did a quick day trip to Cedar City for one of my best friend's daughter's wedding.  These were my two best friend's for all of my growing up years.  I hadn't seen Shannon in probably 15 years and it was so nice to see them both!
Earlier in the day we met my parents at their property in Brian Head, relaxed and played on the mountain, and took the boys fishing.  Ryan caught his first fish! Grant caught some, too!  We had a fish fry later that night after the wedding and before we had to drive home.  So yummy!

We are back in full swing with Fall sports.  Ryan and Grant are both in soccer again, Maren is on the Junior High volleyball team, and Avery is running Cross Country with the high school.  Lots of fun!
