Time Flies

A few weeks ago (we've had many big events since, but that is how behind I am) Avery had a big birthday.  She turned eight!  For her birthday, we partied at the park.  Nicole and Matt were in town, which was an added treat.  Jen and Lynnette and their families came and we had a fun time playing and eating.  The Saturday after her birthday she was baptized.  We were proud of her for making that decision.  She is a great example to her younger siblings.  It was an exciting, happy day.  We had a lot of family in town to support her and it was great to see everyone again.  Grandma Lana stayed for a week after and the kids had so much fun playing with her, opening her daily presents and hearing her stories.  Thanks to everyone for their love and support!  It means a lot to us!

Avery is a lot of fun to be around.  She loves to smile and has a very infectious laugh.  She (like Maren) really wants a puppy.  We saw a puppy in the pet store the other day for $500 and she told me that she is saving her money to buy it.  I think I'm pretty safe.  Avery is actually really good with her money and has become quite the entrepreneur lately.  With a couple of her friends, she has already had a business selling homemade scarves and bookmarks and also a lemonade stand.  They made $9.00 on their lemonade stand and only had to divide it between about 10 neighbor kids.  Avery loves to ride her bike, jump on the trampoline and swing on the monkey bars at the park.  We are so glad she is a part of our family!  We love you, Avery!
