April has been an exciting month for Grant-one that he has been anticipating for a long time. His birthday is this month, and this year, he turned 8 years old, which means that he was able to be baptized yesterday! He has been looking forward to this birthday and all that it brings: baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, scouts, Faith in God, getting a Family Search account, getting new scriptures. It is hard to be the youngest and watch everyone else get to do things first!
His first day of scouts was on his birthday (so was his first day of soccer, but he had to miss that one). On his big day, we had family here to help us celebrate. Jen and her kids, Gramma Lana and Khalina and her family all came. The next day, Lynnette, Abi and Lili came to eat some leftover cake and wish him happy birthday.
Here is Grant blowing up an awesome balloon from Grandma and Grandpa. It looked like a 2 foot long worm! He has a good set of lungs for things like that.
Grant was baptized and confirmed by Dustin. He was so excited before that he was almost shaking! He could hardly hold himself still. Then he worked really hard to stay perfect the rest of the day (minus that little j-walking incident, which he was pretty proud of, until I informed him that it is technically breaking the law to j- walk. But, he wasn't worried because he said that breaking the law isn't really a sin because he is only a kid).
So handsome in his oversized suit. I love little boys in clothes that don't fit quite right. It reminds me of a Norman Rockwell painting.
We love our Grant. He is a fun kid to have around. He loves school and his teacher this year. His teacher has commented to me about what a great leader he is. He is friendly and talkative to everyone--adults and children. He doesn't love mornings too much. He is reading the Book of Mormon all by himself. His favorite thing to do is play with/torment the puppy. He gets her chasing him around the kitchen and living room in circles and she runs so fast she slips all over the kitchen floor! He loves to draw, color and put Legos together. He writes us sweet letters and leaves them on our pillows. He is great at sharing, especially with me. We love our "baby" so much!
