The day that we got back from Idaho, Dustin's brother and his family came in town from California. We love our family!!
We hiked (or strolled, depending on how you look at it).
The adults went to the temple. Very sweet.
We reenacted marriage pictures.
We enjoyed their dog. Our dog, however, did not enjoy their dog. Little stinker.
Arie helped Dustin get a good start on the Sheetrock down in the basement bedroom. And, Dustin used his head as a prop.
We swam, which was nice because it was 100+ degrees outside.
Ryan found this baby praying mantis, and as he brought it in to show me, he lost it. But don't worry, I found it. On his face. Seriously, that is where it was hanging out, and he couldn't feel it.
Maren ran in a 5K with her friends. She is a great runner!
After family left, Ryan had a friend birthday party (the night before his birthday). He wanted to watch a movie outside, play night games and eat pizza. Easy easy.
Grandma and Grandpa stopped by for a few minutes a couple of days before his birthday, so he got to open their present early.
The morning of his birthday we had a Pioneer Primary Activity Day. This is my wonderful presidency, lookin' good as pioneer women. I hit the presidency lottery with these ladies!
My own little pioneers.
We made homemade butter, played pioneer games, did a craft, and did pioneer chores, all before 10 A.M., like true pioneers would.
That evening we celebrated Ryan's birthday with a jello cake and presents.
Mostly sweet children.
Ahh, this is more normal.
Ryan is 10 years old, and going into 5th grade this year. He is a great student, a hard worker and very respectful toward his teachers. Yay! He is a great athlete and loves all sports, and right now he is focusing on soccer. He gets bored with board games, and movies--he would much rather be playing with a ball outside. He gives amazing hugs and opens the door for me at church. He is a good friend and a good brother. We love him so much!
That night, after Ryan's birthday, we headed down to Cedar City so that I could go to my 20 year high school reunion the next afternoon. 20 years?!! How can that be? I asked Dustin if we all looked like a bunch of high schoolers (because I didn't think too many of us had changed). He said, that no, we looked like a bunch of middle aged moms and dads.
This is the classroom of my favorite teacher (and favorite class-German), Herr Corry. Apparently it was many of my classmates favorites. One girl (or, should I say, middle aged lady) actually cried when she walked in the room. It looked the exact same.
Christie and I became adolescents and stole this golf cart that they left lying around. Just kidding! We are way too old to do something that spontaneous. Instead we just took pictures and pretended and laughed at ourselves.
Cedar was having a car show that evening, so we extended the high school reunion and ran into lots of people at the show.
Good times in my ol' stomping grounds!
