January Happenings So Far

It is so nice to look at the calendar and see January 20th already!  I'm not going to lie, January and February are my least favorite.  And kind of March.  The winters months are long for me, the lack of sun affects my moods, I hate being cold and I hate shoveling my driveway.  There.  I'm done now.  No more complaining!
Some good things are happening, too!  Avery finished reading the Book of Mormon for her challenge!  We actually all read it together for the Prophet's challenge, and it was really nice for our family.  I could really tell a difference in the way my kids interacted with each other with reading that much every day.
Nicole and Matt and family came into town, but we had been sick a few days earlier, so we politely didn't give it to anyone.  We finally met up with them at the end of the week to go to the temple together.  This is us at the Jordan River Temple.  Nicole and Matt had been with us but we had driven separately and so we didn't get a picture with them.
But then, as luck would have it, the next day Nicole and my parents all got snowed in at my house on their way down to Cedar!  Good thing we were all cleared on being sick!  And, we loved having the chance to see all of them.

Pepper loves my dad!
Cute Millie!  We miss having babies close by.

Millie was terrified of the dog!  It's scary to have a beast come at you that is the same size as you!  But, after a day or so, she started getting brave.

We had a fun game of Fruit Basket.

My dad and mom were here when Ryan received the Aaronic Priesthood and was ordained to the office of a deacon.  (That was how they got snowed in at my house.  The storm hit while we were in church and they had planned to head home right after).  This was an exciting time for Ryan!
Later in the week we took Ryan to the temple to do baptisms for the dead for the first time.  It was really fun.

The next week he went with some of his friends.  It is fun to see my kids get excited about the temple.  It is my favorite place!

We flushed a fish.  Poor little guy (or girl, I really don't know how to tell on a fish...).
We went to a BYU Volleyball game and age a cougar tail.  We love BYU Volleyball.

A week later we were back at BYU for Avery to race at the Smith Fieldhouse.
We've had lots of snow and cold temperatures this month!  The last couple of days it warmed up a little and the snow turned to lots and lots of rain (I'll take it!  You don't have to shovel rain!).  And, so far, that is what is happening in January!
