Lake Tahoe

A few weeks ago, we had a fun opportunity to go to Lake Tahoe with Monica, Nicole and their families.  We each drove out separately and met them there on a Wednesday afternoon.  We stayed in a fun Air bnb that was perfect for our three families.

The kids had fun with the Polaroid camera provided by the owners--for the first 5 minutes (that's how long it took for them to use up all the film provided).
We took a fun walk around the neighborhood where we were staying.  It is so fun to be in the mountains and with cousins!

The next day we went to the lake bright and early in order to get a spot on the beach.  And it filled up fast!  The water was a little chilly, but that didn't stop the kids from spending the day in it.  And it certainly didn't stop anyone from getting fried by the sun!  We rented a canoe, and bought a couple of little rafts and had a great time playing together.

We also found a spot to jump off some rocks.  The water was incredibly clear!  It is such a beautiful lake!

The adults had to get in on the rock jumping action.  Some of them, anyway.  A couple of us had to watch the little ones and take pictures (which was a nice excuse to not freeze in the water).

We found a very accommodating pizza place for our large, rambunctious group.  They were more than happy to keep the pizza coming (which made for a little shocking tab at the end!)

And, of course, the kids had to clean off after that long day in the lake.

The next day was spent hiking near the lake.  Again, it is so fun to be in the mountains with cousins!

This freezing water felt so nice to dip our feet in.  It was a warm day!

The next morning we had to clean up and check out while Uncle Matt and Uncle James did their bike race (that was technically the reason we were there).  We finished off the trip with a ride on the gondola and ski lift and then we each headed to our homes--Nicole and Matt to California, and us and the Noonan's to Utah and Illinois.  I wish we all lived closer to each other!

We made one last stop for dinner with the Noonan's at a park in Nevada.  They had a much further drive than we did that night.  We had so much fun!  We loved being in nature, visiting and laughing after dinner with my sisters and their husbands, playing with cousins, bubble baths, movies, hiking and playing games!  What a great few days!
