The Rest of Summer Fun

In between reunions, vacations and summer camps, we did a few more fun things.  The Hanchett's moved into a new house, so we went and helped unpacked.  Actually, Avery, Maren and I helped unpack, while the boys played outside and got really sweaty.
Since the older three kids and Dustin are usually at youth activities on Wednesday nights, Grant and I often get to have a Mother Son date night.  This night we decided to go check out a furniture store.  Just for the fun of it.

The boys did a photo shoot for a trampoline company.  The owner is in our ward and they called to see if Ryan and Grant could come jump on a trampoline and get paid to do it.  They were more than happy to oblige.
Ryan had his birthday party with friends.  Pizza and an outdoor movie was a very easy party for me.

Dustin designed a park and it got finished.  We went to check it out one night with Gramma Lana.  It has a river theme because it is right next to the Jordan River.

That same night, we went to the Days of '47 Parade Float Preview Party.  It is always fun to see the floats up close.

We helped with an Eagle Scout project.
Avery planned a "Messy Twister" day with everyone's friends.  They were really dirty and smelled like mustard when it was over, so I guess it was a success.

We helped at a Gatorade station during the Days of '47 Marathon.  It was a lot of fun!
Avery and Maren (and Dustin, for a day and a half) went to Youth Conference.  They had a great time!  They played a lot of volleyball, card games and also learned some good stuff.

We went with friends to a Women's soccer game (and the kids got their hands signed by the players).

Ryan went to Scout Camp at Bear Lake for a week.  It felt like a long week to me!  But he had a great time and came back in one piece.  Dustin got to go up for a day and a half, which Ryan was happy about.

Maren injured her toe at Youth Conference and it didn't need stitches, but she had to soak it and wrap it twice a day for a few weeks.  It is finally healed, but it wasn't fun for a little while.
We went to a Montgomery Reunion one Saturday.  My grandpa showed up in his kilt!  He is 91, so I guess he can do what he wants.  Dustin kept calling it a skirt, and my grandpa finally said "Do you know what happened to the last guy who called this a skirt?  He was kilt."  Hahahaha!

That afternoon on our way home from the reunion, we stopped at some outlets to do a little school shopping, and we ran in to my old college roommate!  I was roommates with Melissa a couple of different times and we both got married and then had kids that were almost the exact same ages.  It was so fun to see her again and reconnect!
The girls had a few days of working at the Bounce House company our neighbors own.
The Braithwaites came to visit!
One of the days we went to This is the Place State Park and pretended to be pioneers and miners.  It was a beautiful day for it, and we had a great time.

We started preparing for school to start.  Ryan starts Junior High this year!  He can fit in the locker now, but I'm guessing he won't be able to by the end of the year.  Or, at least by the end of Junior High.
We spent an evening at the County Fair.

Dustin and I found time for a date!
