Last week Dustin had a Conference for work that took him to Baltimore, Maryland. We were hoping that I could tag along for a few days, but there were just too many things going on at home. He had a great time though and saw a lot of fun things! One of the cool things about working in Parks and Rec, is that his conferences are often filled with seeing some cool things, all in the name of "work". This time he did lots of tours: a bike tour, kayak tour, two stadium tours and a walking tour. And, he threw in a Fort McHenry tour, just for the fun of it. Since they were so close to Washington D.C., he and his coworkers also took an evening and toured the capitol and the Smithsonian (at least a little of both of those things).
This weekend was General Conference, and we woke up this morning to this outside our back door:
Rootbeer is our rabbit. Our friends, the Colemans, have been joking for years about stealing our bunnies and eating them, and today they were trying to pretend like they had actually done it. Rootbeer was not in her cage, so we decided that we would get even with the Coleman's by stealing their 7 adorable kittens. During the last session of General Conference, the kids drove to their house and stole their kittens out of their garage and sent our dog, Pepper, (in her hotdog Halloween costume, just for the funny of it) in to their house with a note around her neck demanding the return of the bunny (and the dog now, too), in exchange for their adorable kittens.
The kids loved those kitties for a couple of hours and once Conference was over, the Coleman's returned our animals and retrieved theirs, and brought us bunny stew for dinner (actually beef stew, but they were hoping we'd fall for it). After they left, we went to put the bunny back in her cage, and found this in front of the kennel (it's a dead raccoon, if you can't tell).
Apparently our friends found this on the road and played one more joke on us! We laughed so hard! And, they were very nice to come and clean it up for us. So funny! And fun to have good friends!
