It is kind of amazing to watch your family grow up! Grant turned 12 a few weeks ago. The year my kids turn 12 marks a lot of big events. He received the Priesthood in January. He started the Young Men's program in Church. He will be done with elementary school in a few weeks. He starts Junior High in August. This year is such a big year for him! It is hard to believe he is the last of our children to reach these milestones. And seeing how fast time goes from here on out, I know we will blink and then be empty nesters! So crazy! But such a fun time of life, too.
We decided to invite cousins over for Grant's birthday. We haven't celebrated a birthday together since last year! My parents happened to be coming up that day to drop my sister's kids off at their house, so they stopped in with everyone and were able to be here, too. And, Gramma Lana was here, of course. It was a fun, family filled birthday!
It was also Grant's turn for a birthday party with friends. Two years ago he was recovering from an appendicitis on his birthday, and last year was the beginning of the Corona Virus for his birthday, so he was overdue. We still tried to keep it as Covid friendly as we could, so we did an outdoor movie and night games with some of his friends.
Overall, he was celebrated many times and felt loved!
We do love Grant! He is a kind, responsible student. He fulfills his priesthood duties with excitement. He is smart, a loving son, and a fun brother. He currently loves minecraft and legos and math. He is on student service council and serves as the 6th grade class president (although I'm not really sure what that entails, if anything...). He just finished up a year of playing cello with the 6th grade orchestra. We are so grateful he is in our family! He brings energy and excitement wherever he goes!
