Last week Maren turned 16! We have another driver at our house! We set up an appointment for 11:00 on the morning of her birthday. She took Driver's Ed through the high school, so all we had to do was show up and get her license. So exciting!
We had family in town all week for my sister Lynnette and her husband Jim being sealed in the temple, so I had a helper, Ivy, for Maren's cake. She requested a mint chocolate brownie cake. Mmmm.

That night, we sent family home early because we had a surprise party planned for Maren. She had told us not to plan her a surprise party, but she also refused to plan her own party, so she got the surprise. Haha! Our friend, Jared, has a limo and agreed to come and grab Maren and her friends and take them around town. He and Dustin played the chauffer part well. I tagged along to take pictures.
We had balloons filled with candy that were entertaining in the back of the limo.
The girls got dropped off back at our house, after a stop at Fizz in Farmington Station and then a drive around downtown Salt Lake City (with a couple of stops for photo shoots). They watched an outdoor movie and then headed home around midnight. Maren had fun and wasn't mad at us for planning a party for her. Win! Dustin, Avery, Ryan and Grant all went and helped clean the limo after the girls got dropped off.
Maren is a responsible, helpful, fun, funny part of our family. She is so good with the little cousins and is so helpful to me. She is loving driving and is very willing to run my errands. Hopefully that will last! She is a great athlete, a wonderful euphonium player and an awesome student. She is a beautiful girl, inside and out. We love her!
