So Much Family Time In June

Since it is August, I thought I'd better write about June.  I have good reason for not posting: I was busy having too much fun.  We have had almost non stop family this summer.  It has been a blast!  It started with Jim and Lynnette going through the temple for the first time.  Monica and Nicole and their spouses and my parents came in town for a few days to be a part of it.  It was the first time I had been back to the temple since the beginning of Covid.  It was lovely.  And it ended up being the first of many temple experiences during the month of June.

The next morning we did brunch with the girls (and grandpa), while the boys were biking.

There was a lot of food!
And the temple again that night for Jim and Lynnette and the girl's being sealed.  So sweet!  I love the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ so much!

A few days later Dustin's family came into town to celebrate Gramma Lana's 75th birthday.  We had a BBQ in the canyon by our house.

The next day we all worked hard to repaint and fix up Lana's house as our gift to her.  It was a busy, fun day working together!

We had lunch at a park with some of the aunts and uncles the next day.

We did a family photo shoot.

We played at the Planetarium and saw Chalk Art.

And played on the scooter.

A beautiful sunset above our house.

It was Father's Day that Sunday.  We hit the jackpot in Dad's at our house!

The finished product.

It was so much fun to spend time with Dustin's family!
The next day Dustin and I took Avery to see Les Miserables for her 18th birthday.  It was fabulous.

And the next day was Avery's birthday!  For her birthday, we got to go do baptisms for the dead (finally!).  It was Grant's first time in the temple and we took a few cousins and a few friends.  It was so nice to be there!  We made it back to the temple a couple more times in the next couple of weeks for baptisms.  We won't get to take our youth back until December, so hopefully we got our fill in those 2 weeks.

We went out to eat for Avery's birthday dinner and then went home for cake and ice cream.  Avery requested a triple layer churro cake with Nutella and chocolate frosting.  It was fun to make something new and turned out...mostly good.

It is hard to believe our oldest is 18 years old!!  Avery is such a fun part of our family!  I'm sure our family dynamic is going to change when she moves out in a couple of weeks.  She loves to laugh, is patient and kind, a hard worker, and is mostly ok with us throwing her out into the real world to be an adult.  Haha!  I think she would be content to sit home comfortably on the couch reading, but she is also excited for all the fun adventures she is going to have at college.  It has been so fun to watch her grow up.  We love her so much!
More temple time.
To finish off June, we made a quick overnight camping trip to the Losee Reunion in Oak City.  We love the mountains, and it was fun to visit with extended family and ride four wheelers (until it died on Maren and she had to push it to the main road and then coast back to camp.  Luckily she's a resourceful, clear headed girl).

Whew!  Busy June!
