Halloween Fun (And Other Important Things)

One night in October we decided that, for science, we should taste test all the glazed donuts we could find and see which was the best.  It is hard to be scientists, but we are pretty good at our job.  And, in case you are wondering, Lee's has the best donuts in our area, with Parson's Bakery a very close second.

Maren had her first band concert of the year.  The first concert is always fun because all the bands play together for Party Band and line up and down the sides and front of the auditorium while they play.

Grant had his first band concert and because it is Halloween, they dressed up.  Gramma Lana is always good to come support us!

Dustin had the opportunity to do a BYU Men's Chorus reunion song down in Provo one Saturday.  He learned a song and they all sang it for a YouTube video they are publishing at some point.  He had fun participating.  The boys and I went down to hang out with Avery while Dustin was doing his thing.  We shopped and ate and had fun.  Lana came down for lunch and to see Avery's apartment when Dustin was done and we also went to the BYU Museum of Art and the bookstore.

Dustin was obviously not the oldest BYU Men's Chorus Alumni present.

Maren didn't come down because she had the Sadie's dance and date the night before and the night of the BYU thing.  They dressed up as tourists.

We carved pumpkins!

This may have been my easiest carving yet (and I always do easy).  My old man pumpkin's mouth was already formed and I just had to make a little slit and add some eyes.  Sometimes the pumpkin just speaks to you and you know what it wants to be, you know?
Four great pumpkin faces.

My family is always a little more creative with their pumpkins.
We got together with Jen's family for a cousin Halloween party.  Lynnette's family was battling Covid so we missed them.

Maren ran in the State Cross Country meet!  This is her first year running Cross Country, and she has battled some pain while she runs, but she did so well!  We are proud of her.  So proud, in fact, that I agreed to buy her a sweatshirt and then waited in a two hour (very poorly managed) line, where actual adults were butting in front of me and I nearly lost it more than once.  The things we do for our kids!

We had a ward Fall Festival and our Young Women were in charge of the fish pond.
Halloween!  We weren't sure if any of our kids would be trick-or-treating this year, but in the end they decided to go for it and we have many pounds of candy to show for their efforts.  Dustin and I stayed home and handed out candy for the first time ever and it was pretty boring!  We ended up shutting off the light and watching a movie.  Haha!
