September came and went (and now October is almost over!). The boys ran cross country all month and had lots of meets. They did well! It was an unusually hot September and they had to run in some pretty warm temperatures, but they endured!
During Labor Day Weekend, while I was in California on my sister's trip, Dustin and Grant went to Idaho for my Great Uncle Bert's funeral. He was 10 years younger than my Grandpa Montgomery, and we didn't expect him to go so soon. I was super sad to have to miss his funeral. We loved him! He was like a second grandpa to us! He was such a fun part of The Farm. He was so good to my kids and always took us on tractor rides, and truck rides to feed the ducks. He let the kids drive the tractors and go-carts and made it so fun when we visited. We will miss him!
Ryan was with friends at the Lake all weekend, so it was just Dustin and Grant having fun together.
Avery had her first day of school for this year! She is having so much fun (hopefully not too much fun, and she can still do well in her classes!). She has a good group of friends, mostly from her mission, and they do so many fun things together.
Dustin finished our tree house. He had to replace the whole deck and secure it to the ground. It was a big job, but it feels safer now.
We went to the rodeo with Gramma Lana and Grant and his friend Lucas. Then we walked around the State Fair.
Ice Cream night with friends for me!
Dustin and I went on a beautiful hike.
Cousins had birthdays
Maren's mission does a bi-weekly zoom call with families and missionaries. They call it the Miracle Moments Zoom Meeting. We get to hear a few missionaries tell about miracles they have experienced recently. It's pretty cool to hear how they are doing and so fun to see Maren in her element!
Ryan danced during the halftime performance of the Powder Puff Football game, during Homecoming week. He even landed an awesome backflip during their performance.
The boys had their Homecoming dates. Ryan took a girl named Chloe and Grant took his friend, Maddie. Lana made the boy's corsages and did a great job. Dustin was the photographer for Grant's group, and they also came to our house for dinner that night before the dance. It was fun to see them all dressed up, and they were very polite and grateful kids.
And the very next day, Ryan got asked to the Sadie's dance (that's pretty typical for this area--as soon as one dance is over, the next one starts getting planned). Grant got asked a couple of days later.
Ryan flipping in his church clothes.
Dustin and I went to Provo for my cousin Andrew's wedding reception. It was fun to see family and we visited Avery afterwards for a few minutes.
A lady in our ward has a son and daughter-in-law who live in Maren's current ward in California. They came to visit and it was so fun to see them, knowing that they had just seen Maren the week before! And they were nice to take a package back to her from us. It is so nice knowing that there are so many good people looking out for her and feeding and taking care of her! I know that this family has fed them dinner many times!
Speaking of Maren, she is doing so well! We are so proud of her! I know missions are not easy, but she is staying so positive and affecting lives there in California! We love her and miss her!
