We hadn't been to the Farm to see my Grandpa for a while, so we took the chance over the long Memorial Day weekend. We left lots of rain and found beautiful weather in Idaho! The Farm is about the only place that we go where I really relax on a vacation. We generally don't have any agenda when we are there. We just do the regular Farm things, like play with puppies, and jump on the trampoline, and drive go-carts and tractors. I love it!
This little playful puppy may have cured my kid's desire for their own puppy (at least for now). He was a little more wild than they expected. I couldn't have planned it better!
Beautiful scenery.
Hi, Maren.
Seriously, one of the most gorgeous sunsets that I've ever seen.
Getting ready to go to Church on Sunday with Great Grandpa.
After church we stopped at the Cemetery and saw my Grandma's grave. We wandered around and Grandpa told us stories about the people he knew there.
Then (much to the complaints of my kids) we drove around Buhl and surrounding farm land while Grandpa told us stories about he and Grandma dating in high school. This is the store where he first saw her. It was raining, and she was taking shelter with a friend. Grandpa gave Grandma and her friend a ride, and the rest is history!
Riding the go-cart.
Playing a little pool, Wiberg style.
Driving the tractor with Uncle Bert.
On Monday morning we went on a hike with my cousin, Clay, his girls, and Grandpa and Bert (who only hiked to the lookout). It was beautiful! And it gave me severe anxiety about one of my kids going over the edge!
Nice and safe, behind the fence. But the fence wasn't very long...
The actual hike took us down the ravine (in a safe way), along the river and to some falls. The water was a beautiful turquoise color. The river is coming from a spring. That first picture is where the spring starts.
Dustin, Clay and Grant making their way down.
The water falls, on the hike.
Later that day we found Bert's ducks to feed.
And drove the go-cart some more.
And drove a small tractor around.
And hung from a basketball hoop...?
When it was time to go, Grandpa followed us to Twin Falls, where we took a look at the new Visitor's Center and the Rainbow Bridge.
The Snake River.
Then we drove to Shoshone Falls.
By then, it was late and we still had a drive ahead of us, so we said goodbye to Grandpa and headed home. It was a lovely weekend!
