Finishing Off Those Reunions

At the end of our other two reunions, we started another reunion with my siblings and parents.  It had been a couple of years since we had all been together, and we made the most of it, by packing in as much as we could.  Monica and I were in charge of planning it, and so we planned for a few days in Northern Utah, so that those of us in the area, whose husbands couldn't take a whole week off of work, would still be able to participate as much as we could.
Sunday night everyone finished coming into town.  We met up first thing Monday morning to take a tour of the Utah State Capitol.  It is a beautiful building, and Monica and James' friend was the tour guide.  She was very patient with all those kids.

Later that afternoon we all went bowling.  Once again, the people were very patient with all those kids.  We had 17 little kids there to bowl, plus 13 adults!

Dinner, ice cream cones and dancing (at least for the babies) followed at our house.  It is so nice to be together.

The next day we spent at Pineview Reservoir.  We rented paddle boards, and happened to find the perfect shallow beach for our large crew.  The weather and company was perfect!  We couldn't have asked for a better day!

For dinner we went to the Hunstville BBQ Company to eat.  They were also very accommodating to our large group.  And after a long day in the sun, we all slept well that night!

Wednesday was spent taking this little one to the Instacare.  It was our first ever major trampoline accident.  She was pretty sad about her broken ankle, but after a little Tylenol, she perked right up!  We drove to Cedar City that night for the remainder of our time together.
On Thursday, we went to my parent's property in the mountains.  We always love to spend time on the mountain.

The hammocks were a new addition this year.  And a well used addition!
At our talent show that night (a tradition--we're kind of a family of many traditions), my parent's did an awesome rendition of "Horsey Horsey."  I said we're a family of tradition, not a family of talent...
Look at that cute baby loving her cousin, Ammon.
Friday was a rainy, kind of boring day, that confirmed to me that we did right in WAY over planning the rest of the reunion.  Enough said.
Saturday morning was spent at the Cedar City Temple ground breaking.  At least watching it at my parent's Stake Center (my parent's got to go to the real deal).  It was neat, and amazing to think that a temple is going up in my home town!  So cool!
That afternoon we went hiking at a place called Red Cliffs.  I spent a lot of time at Red Cliffs in my youth, and especially my teenage years.  This is the place where one of my kid's favorite stories occurred: when I drove my rear bumper right off my little car by driving fast through a dip in the road.  My friends and I loaded that thing in between the two front seats of the car, and drove it on home where my dad rigged it back on with a little chicken wire.  Ahh, small towns are so fun!

The Greenshow later on that night.  This is another tradition for our family.

And then everyone headed to their respective homes on Sunday afternoon.  What an exhausting, fun week with my family!

Wow! All those reunions, I bet you are tired! Looks like tons of fun (except for the broken ankle). And seeing all your fun pictures makes me sad that summer has come to a close and we'll all be cooped up inside for the winter. Definitely need to take advantage of the good weather while we still have it!
