Spring Break was a couple of weeks ago, and since we had recently been to California, we decided to just take a couple of days and go to visit my Grandpa and The Farm. As usual, it was relaxing and fun and so nice to spend time there. The weather was a little chilly and rainy, but nothing that would stop us from lots of walks, playing in the fields, catching frogs, riding tractors and exploring the "resource yard" (a.k.a. the junkyard. We were corrected when we called it that).
We had a contest to see who could roll the tire the farthest. Dustin won.
We walked to the rim and kept Pepper from jumping over the edge.
Uncle Bert came out and the kids picked up rocks in the new field they are preparing. Pepper and I rode along with Bert and watched.
We caught frogs. This little guy was hiding in our bedroom and only making himself known when I was either sleeping at night, or taking a nap during the day. But we finally found him and his friend, hiding behind Grandpa's DVD's. He was very loud for being so small!
After the kids helped pick up the rocks in the field, Dustin and Grandpa got a flat tire in the old farm truck. So Bert hauled them back. I don't know if you can see it in this picture, but my 90 year old Grandpa is riding, standing up, in the bucket of the tractor.
We took a ride back to the truck to take off the tire, and of course, it started raining hard on us. So, on the way back home, I rode in the cab, and Dustin and the boys braved the rain. Ahh, farm life! We felt pretty authentic for a minute.
We took Grandpa to dinner in Twin Falls, but before we ate, we stopped to see the bridge, and watch some people base jumping off of it. It was a little nerve racking to see them jump off of that high bridge!
My cousins, the Athey's, came to pick up Grandpa and take him for a couple of days, but before they left, they spent the afternoon wandering around the farm, reminiscing about the old cars and what they were used for.
After Grandpa left, we decided to stay one more night, so we headed to Shoshone Falls. The water level is high right now, so they were beautiful!
We got up and started for home the next morning. It was a nice Spring Break!
