During that first week of Spring Break, it was Easter. We dyed eggs, did Easter egg hunts, played with grandma and cousins, and more!
This was the hunt we did around our backyard with the cousins. You'll notice that lovely "fire" the boys have made in the first picture. I'm ashamed to admit there are still remnants of that fire in my backyard, a week and a half later.
We showed no mercy when we hid the older kid's eggs. Avery is trying to get one now.
Dying eggs. And hands. My kids are officially at that age where in at least one picture of the night, someone has rabbit ears.
Waiting so patiently.
On Easter Saturday, Ryan seemed to think Easter was like Christmas, and when he couldn't find his basket, he was a little upset. I tried to explain that you get a basket whether you are naughty or nice.
See! Even this naughty guy didn't get a lump of coal.
During the local Easter egg hunt, Grant hesitated for about 2 seconds when everyone started cheering. By the time he got the nerve, he was just about out of luck. Here he is grabbing one of maybe three eggs that were left for him.
No hesitation on Ryan's part, but there were just so many kids there.
It was the perfect morning for flying kites.
We spent the rest of the day hiking and driving around Antelope Island. The island with many...buffalo?
Good thing Grant thinks I'm funny. We even walked (for a long time) in the nastiest, slimiest lake around.
And the next day was the actual holiday of Easter. We had a lovely day together as a family.
The next week was our actual Spring Break, and we stayed home, read, slept, played games, visited a couple of museums and now we are so ready to be back in school!
